We love trying to pick the outcomes of football games here on Power Picks. But there is another handicapper who has been making picks in some very important political races.
Last week, Sarah Palin endorsed Doug Hoffman for the NY 23rd Congressional District. This week, Palin expressed her support for Chris Christie in NJ and Bob McDonnell in VA in their gubernatorial races.
I'm wondering, if she threw her support behind the Cowboys would they get an 8 point bounce in the spread?
The real close race is Christie - Corzine in NJ. And while Corzine has been playing horribly, Christie is having a tough time advancing the ball against the staunch liberal defense that New Jersey is known for. Palin's facebook note could be the equivalent of a political field goal at the end of the race. But if she actually stumped for him, I bet they could get back to a five point lead easily.
Palin averages a 3 point bounce on statewide races and an 8 point bounce on local races. One wonders, is she the Peyton Manning of the GOP? Can she earn the starting position at QB in 2012? Stay tuned.
