Week Five Pickin's

Hello, fellow pigskin addicts!!! It's time for another exciting round of football picks from an all-around nice girl next door. So, last week, my buddy ol' pal, Patrick, and I tied with four losses a piece. To top it all off, my dear Chargers lost a heartbreaking game to the evil Steelers. This week, I have a feeling I'm going to hit the gold mine with my picks. I feel this way because Patrick looks like he let his son make his picks for him. Anyway, I'm actually typing this from my dear blackberry because I'm at my family's cabin where we spend every summer. I love the Sierra Nevadas. There's just something about the serenity of the mountains and crisp, calm water. I love fishing, hiking, sailing, swimming and hanging out with friends whom I've grown up with. Yes, I may be a girly-girl when it comes to fashion, but I'm a tom boy at heart too. Anyway, enough about me. I hate to say it, but I have a feeling Patrick is going to be sweating more than Chris Matthew's leg tingles come the end of week five. Sorry, Patrick, but I can't wait to see you holding your beloved picture of the anointed one. Oh, and one more tiny detail- Brett Favre is not the Sarah Palin of football for one simple reason: When Sarah resigned, she resigned. She didn't change her mind and go back to being governor the very next day. When Brett quit (twice), he changed his mind and went back to playing, you guessed it- football. Alas, he was wearing a different jersey each time, but he was still playing. Unlike Sarah, whom I respect and take seriously, Brett has lost all credibility to me as a
Fan. I used to really admire Brett, until he began retiring and un-retiring. Maybe he should take a page from Sarah and move on to bigger and better things. Until he does, he is going to remain the John McCain of football.
